Dearest, Little Lady.
How are you even three? I find turning three such a big milestone and I can’t believe that we are here already.
You have literally become my heart and soul, my little best friend, someone that I can always count on and I hope you feel the same way about me too.
The past year has been a whirlwind, from your little babbles to full on sentences, you have grown up so much before our eyes that it feels like time is running away. You know exactly what you want and how to get it, I just love our little conversations and I’m really enjoying this stage of our lives where you are able to understand everything I say to you and also defy me!
We went on our first family holiday to Edinburgh and you had such a lovely time, despite ending up ill and your breakfast refusals (that I’ll never forget!) you trooped along and exceeded our expectations.
On that note, we went on so many adventures and you literally shocked all of us, how you would always manage to walk and walk for so long without complaining is beyond me and makes me so proud of you. Never do you complain to be put in the pushchair or to be picked up.
How are you so grown up already?
I think out of all the places we visited your favourite was Stonehenge as you were completely in your element, running around freely and just literally having the time of your life.
This past year, you have also got over your fear of riding in the car. You were so not a fan of cars that you used to end up getting car sick but now you’re absolutely fine and I think it may be because we finally got our own car and you’re able to ride more.
What fascinates me is your intelligence, if two of the exact same model car and colour are side by side each other, you know which one is yours. You’re able to recognise which cars belong to you, your Nanny, your Aunty and your Uncle’s – how is that even possible when I still get confused myself, today?
One thing about you that really makes me smile is that you usually call me Mummy, but when you need something I suddenly become ‘Mum-maaa’.
You are currently overly obsessed with the cartoon Bing – this obsession seems a bit much, sometimes, but what I love about you the most that whenever you’re given screen time, you actually learn something, you don’t just stare into a dreamland, you learn.
Like you’ve learnt your colours, the alphabet and numbers and some of the shapes too, you make so proud.
You were due to start school next month but due to a naughty bug going round you have to wait a little longer, you keep saying ‘I want to go school’ and I’m sure when the time comes you’ll fit right in and make friends as you are so affectionate.
Affectionate as such, that if you see a baby you just want to cuddle them. We have to be careful and make sure you don’t run after a stranger for their baby! For a little girl who hasn’t been around much other children especially younger babies, you do know how to handle them with care.
I’m so proud to call you my daughter and I’m so glad that you’re mine.
Thank you for bringing light into my life.
Lots of Love,
Mummy
