Oh April, what a mixed bag of emotions you were! If you read my March Favourites post you would know that April didn’t start off as I had hoped. The last week of March I ended up with COVID19 and isolating in my bedroom. This was quite an emotional time for me as I had never been away from my daughter but now I had to in order to make sure she didn’t catch it from me.
Luckily, I managed to not give it to anyone else, which is such a relief!
But April was also a good month of memories and once again, I’m glad I started this series on my blog to help me think of all the positive things that had happened.
So without further ado, let’s get on with it!
EASTER BONNET

First of April was my daughter’s Easter Bonnet parade at school for which I was meant to make her bonnet with her. However, seeing that I was stuck in my bedroom, I couldn’t. But my brother stepped in and I supervised via FaceTime!
I was quite impressed with my brother’s attempt at it. Off Miss A went to school wearing it proudly.
Do you think he did a good job?
RAMADAN

Ramadan began the first weekend of April, I had so many plans of getting things ready for Miss A, mainly decorating her playroom. So I was sad that I could not do this at first and I’m not going to lie I did have a lot of tears but I didn’t tell anyone how I was feeling. However, to keep myself occupied, I spent my time making this cardboard mosque! I’m so pleased with how it turned out and when I was eventually able to decorate and create Miss A’s Ramadan Corner, her reaction was priceless and I guess worth the wait!
Due to my health, I wasn’t able to fast as much as I had hoped this year but I did end up making lots of lovely memories with Miss A, doing activities from her advent calendar to being able to spend more time with family, which I will always appreciate.
EASTER HOLIDAYS

We didn’t do anything in particular for the Easter holidays as for the first couple of days I was isolating, then too weak for any adventures. As it was Ramadan, we took things slowly and it felt just right to not have to rush around.
For Easter weekend, we did manage to go for a sleepover at my brothers which Miss A really enjoyed. The weather was lovely meaning Miss A could eat out on the balcony which she loved.
OMG TAKEOVER

On Instagram, I follow a wonderful page that brings Mums together from all over the world. I came across The Online Mummy Group last year and I’m so glad that I did as I’ve honestly come across so many beautiful people.
For April, they asked me if I would like to do takeovers on Saturdays and share more about Ramadan and what we get up to with everyone. At first, I couldn’t believe it and of course I said yes. I really enjoyed taking over and sharing my life and what we get up to during Ramadan with everyone. It was out of my comfort zone but it felt good!
MAKING FRIENDS

After eight months of Miss A starting school, I finally managed to make a school mum friend! No one really talks about how hard it is to make friends as adults but it really is! But luckily because of Miss A’s friendship I managed to and I’m so pleased!
Being the only one out of my friends to have a child, it can get lonely! Plus it’s so lovely to see Miss A have such a great bond with one of her friends, fingers crossed they are kept in the same class next year as she won’t be happy about it if not!

Glad you had a good April. This year has been nice, with Covid receding.
Seem you had an interesting April and love what you did. I hope this month is also good and maybe even better.
It sounds like overall you managed to have a great month despite some challenges! I love the bonnet your brother helped A make, it’s wonderful, and the OMG takeover sounds like so much fun too – and such a great opportunity, so well done! Thank you so much for sharing x
Such a beautiful bonnet and Ramadan decor.
April gave the chance to explore spring in Europe
so I went to Netherlands and Paris..
Aww I’m sorry you caught covid at the end of March, but I’m happy that you were able to have a lovely April.
I love your daughter’s Easter bonnet and that’s nice your brother could help her. I love the mosque you made for her, and it sounds like you had a wonderful Ramadan and Easter.
Also, I completely agree it’s so hard making friends as adults!
