I started blogging in 2018 and everything went smoothly during the first half of the year. However, as soon as I got back into the working world, my blog started to slowly slip away. There is only one reason behind that and it was because I was not organised enough.
Managing work full time as well as motherhood, I didn’t really know how and where to fit blogging in. I tried for several months and in the end only posted occasionally and then took an unexpected long break.
But now I am back to blogging and have started to take it much more seriously. Which means I have had to change my routine and the way I work to make it a success.
So, how do I plan on keeping on top of my blog?

Well, I needed a planner to start off with in order to keep on top of everything. If you know me, I am so picky when it comes to buying anything especially a planner! The planner I go for has to be perfect and exactly meet my requirements.
So when I saw the lovely Jordanne from Of a Glasgow Girl was looking for bloggers to test out her planner, I jumped at the opportunity. I already had my eye on them so was really excited to finally give it a go.
What is The Blog Planner?
This planner was created by Jordanne keeping fellow bloggers in mind. Jordanne has an extensive experience of blogging for six years and counting. Therefore she knew what exactly goes into a blog and what a blogger would essentially need in a planner. Not only that but she collated feedback from fellow bloggers in order to make it the perfect planner for us.
It is a digital planner which you can print as well!
So how can the planner help you?
Plan
Planning is key.
Now that I have got my hands on The Blog Planner, I intend to use it fully. Usually, I have ideas hopping here and there that I jot down on my phone. I just write down a potential title and then one day sit down to write.
I never plan a blog post in depth for example, what I actually intend to include which I think can either be a hit or a miss. Leading to a post not doing so well.
The Blog Planner has a dedicated page to help me conquer just that! I see it as a tool of encouragement to help me maximise my post’s potential.
My favourite part of the planner is the Blog Checklist, prompts to help you make sure you have ticked all the boxes. Not only that but the weekly checklist to remind you whether or not you’ve replied to comments. As sometimes I end up falling behind with those!

Time Management
We are always complaining that there are not enough hours during the day to get everything done. However, the reality is we don’t utilise our time the right way.
The unique thing about this planner which I have yet to find in others is that it not only helps you to plan your blog but also your everyday life too.
The ‘My Day’ page helps you to plan and navigate your day to day routine. This not only helps you to keep everything in one place but easily allows you to fit in your blog work with others too.
Promotion
I am not going to lie, I am so lazy at promoting my blog! Sounds silly, right? You put in so much hard work into your post but then don’t promote it! I don’t know why I am like this but I need a constant reminder that I need to put my blog out there more.
Otherwise, how are people going to find my posts? There’s no magic spell to make them aware of it, if only!
I am relieved that at least that part of blogging The Blog Planner has taken care for me. How? There are checklists to remind you where and whether you have promoted your blog. There is even a social media content planner which you can use to help you promote as well as your overall social media journey.

Other Thoughts…
There are so many aspects of blogging that to be honest I was not aware of until I came across this planner. I didn’t realise that I could set myself some aims and goals for my blog. Have I ever focussed on who exactly my audience is? No.
A Family and Lifestyle Blogger, I call myself, but have I ever given much thought to who actually reads and enjoys my posts? No, not really.
Since I am taking my blogging journey much more seriously now, I’m glad that I have The Blog Planner to help me because otherwise I would be at lost with a lot of questions.

The Important Stuff
Everything I mentioned above is important of course to keep on top of your blog. However, what is that one thing that tops the list?
Enjoyment.
Enjoy what you do and write, if you don’t then eventually it will start to feel like a chore and that will inevitably show in your writing. That’s how and why I intend to use my planner, keeping track of my blog and my posts is sure to make it less stressful around my everyday life and day job.

Great planner and great review.
I have several spreadsheets with to do lists and would love one place to record everything I need to complete.
I use to have everything all over the place too, it’s nice to have it all in one place now, thank you for reading 🙂
I have never tried using a dedicated blog planner before as I am usually taking little notes on scape pieces of paper. After seeing how lovely the fonts and outlay to this planner are, though, and how specific it is to blogging I am inspired to buy a pretty binder to put it into!
Thanks for sharing an awesome review. 🙂
I am amazed by how useful this planner seems to be and how much focused and dedicated is to blogging. It really sounds like a very good idea. I usually use a notebook where I write down everything I have to do. Not the best organized kind of way.
I love all things to do with stationery especially a good blog planner! This one looks like it would really help with organization!
I always wondered what was in a blog planner, as I’ve seen people advertising them on Twitter a lot. Now I know. I had no idea they would contain so much stuff
