April/May Favourites

23 June 2018

I know it’s a bit late as we’re already nearing the end of June but I’m still trying to find my feet in the new world I’ve stepped in (I won’t go into detail here, another post for another day). But FINALLY I present to you my April/May Favourites!

30 Simple Ways to be Kind by Hello Bexa

I remember seeing Bexa’s tweet about this and I was instantly attracted towards the title. I was most definitely impressed because some things are so easily done that we don’t give any thought to at all – you might actually be doing it and not realising it. This post was a brilliant lift up for me.

Everyone is Saying that You Have to Find Yourself Again by A Bloggers Beauty

All the Mums out there, I make it compulsory for you to go and read this now! Since becoming a Mum, most if not all of us hear all the time about how we’ve lost ourselves, how we need to find ourselves again etc but do we really? Elle explores this topic and goes against the most common advice on the block. Have a read yourself and decide where you stand and to be honest it’s not just for Mums but for everyone as we in our day to day lives we all go through changes that impact us.

What I’ve Learnt As a Spectrum Mum by Spectrum Mum.

I am absolutely in awe of this woman – she is A M A Z I N G! She talks about what she has learnt as a Mum but as that Mum who has the additional responsibility of a child with autism. But what is so great about this post is that tips are given on how to conquer the struggles and take things forward rather than focus on what others may think as holding you back. I don’t think this is just a read for parents with children with additional needs but for everyone who wants to find the positives.

Try a Little Kindness by Where The Wild Things Were

This was such an important topic addressed. In the world of smartphones and social media, everything is documented on the internet, if something happens, people whip out there phones to record and we’re always hearing how we should keep an eye on children using the internet because of things such as cyber bullying but what we don’t focus on is adults acting the same. Adults bullying other adults – ever thought about that?

Why I’m Jealous of Your Loss by Five Little Doves

This post, it’s every single word was as if though I was the one behind the keyboard. At first, I couldn’t believe what I was reading – someone else felt like this too? For the past 2.5 years I have felt like this alone and in some way it was unfortunately comforting to know that I wasn’t alone in this. I do get jealous, I still do so go and read this post to try and understand why.

5 Great Reasons to Breastfeed Beyond One by Crummy Mummy

As a Mum of a 16 month old that still breastfeeds and intends to for as long as nature allows us I found this post quite useful. It’s shocking to see the opinions of people, especially in the UK, in 2018 towards breastfeeding toddlers. Crummy Mummy rightfully points out 5 great reasons that put those opinions to rest and actually motivates you if you wish to continue.

Creating More Worthwhile Content by The Emerald Dove

Lauren has talked about a topic that most probably goes through every bloggers mind when it comes to blogging whether or not to feature products on your blog that don’t really go with the blog. Sometimes this is frowned upon and sometimes it is just the be all because perhaps that product may bring in some very much needed income? Lauren has written an incredibly honest post sharing her personal experience of featuring products.

Dealing with Toddler Tantrums by Navigating Baby

Toddlers are most famous for one thing only and that is tantrums! Although Little A will always be my baby she is no longer classified as one but in fact is a toddler now and it’s very obvious because we have already had our fair share of tantrums. So, I have found this post very useful and a post that will always be bookmarked for the times I have to deal with what is called a full on tantrum when there is nothing you can do to distract them!

Stand by Me: The Art of Staying Married with Children by Mother Almost Never Knows Best

This post really touched my heart and inspired me so much that I forced the husband to read it as well! In this day and age, how many couples stay together for 10+ years? Marriages are hard work, there’s no doubt about that. Sometimes you have good days and sometimes the bad but what is important is coming out the other end stronger and united than before. This post reflects on I guess every individual dreams of what they see in the future with their partner and truly what is meant ‘I want to grow old with you,’ this isn’t just a phrase it is something that you have to work hard for and thrive.

Breastfeeding – THE END by Amy Jane and Baby
Breastfeeding; even though can be the most beautiful thing in the world it is, without a second doubt, the most emotional as well. Especially when it comes to an end, you may think why would that be emotional? For however many months, a special bond is created between the mother and baby, the mother has that magic power to easily calm the crying baby or breastfeeding is that time you’re able to spend with each other in peace – to name a few. So when it comes to an end, it becomes a very emotional time for the mother and baby too. Amy has written a wonderful letter to her handsome little boy Freddie about their journey coming to an end. I think that this one letter can change many people’s outlook on breastfeeding.

Now I’m Just Some Mummy That You Used to Know by Tilly Button
I most certainly am of the belief that when you have a baby it is then you only come to know who your real friends are. With this new chapter in your life, it can be difficult to maintain relationships but those who stick around you know they’re worth it. Having a child can become quite isolating as well as being the best thing ever but it really depends on how you take charge of your own situation. Tilly explores on what really happens and how you can help yourself.
*~*~*
So there you have it! I know, I know there weren’t that many but I honestly haven’t done as much reading in the past two months at all. Hopefully, I’ll be back to normal routine very soon!

It's okay to still post any recaps/faves from a few months before! Your blog, your rules :).

I really like Bexa's blogs. It's important to know that it doesn't take much for someone to be kind. I like that Elle gave some insights on a common issue. I'm honestly worried about any kids I have in the future because the internet can be a dangerous place if someone wonders off to the bad side of it.

    Thanks for sharing your faves!
