Zeen and Me – Turning a Dream into Reality

For a long time, I wanted to have something of my own, had an idea but was too hesitant to take that idea forward. Eventually, after great deliberation, Zeen and Me, was born.

After months of planning and putting everything together, I launched late last year. I’m not going to sugarcoat it because it’s been mad, running a small shop is scary business especially whilst trying to work from home and so takes a lot of dedication and most importantly, patience.

There are good times and bad times, times where your shop does really well and you can’t believe it but also times when things slow down, you don’t make sales and you start questioning where you’ve gone wrong. But it is in those moments, you have to remind yourself of the passion you started it all with. 

Zeen and Me is a concept put together to encourage the love of books in children but equally importantly self care for Mums and Dads. We often look for new things and gifts for our children but forget to treat ourselves too – so with a Zeen and Me set, you get the best of both worlds.

I put together 8 different themed sets catering from ages 0 to 6 years.

A closer look

From the very beginning, children start to wonder, engaging with their new environment. We’ve put together this box to help your little one explore some of their senses. To encourage their fine and gross motor skills and cognitive growth are just a few of the benefits. The Bedtime One 

We all know of the typical bedtime routine, ‘bath, book and bed’ but we’ve added a few little additions! So once you’ve put the little ones to bed after snuggling up with ‘Sleepy Stegosaurus and his Dinosaur friends’ have a sit down and do a bit of self care with the Calm and Cool Mask ending with having a cup of tea and a cheeky biscuit.

There’s no secret that children absolutely love animals so whether it’s rain or sunshine we’re bringing the farm over to you! There’s something for everyone, with all sets including a handwritten personalised card, it can even be sent straight to a loved one.

I started off taking orders on my shop’s Instagram but then decided to give Etsy a go. This little shop is a dream of mine, inspired by my daughter, hence the name Zeen! I hope one day thrives and helps to make a difference in people’s lives, although sometimes I do think about giving it up but what stops me from doing that is I want to set an example for my daughter to never stop chasing your dreams, no matter how far or difficult they seem.
