You’re probably very sick of hearing this again and again but I’ll say it anyways. I cannot believe how quickly this year has passed! I can remember myself sat down, writing my goals for this year just like as if though it was yesterday and now the time has come to reflect on them!
I guess that just shows how precious time really is!
If you didn’t read my goals for 2018 then do so here to get a better picture of what I’m talking about now.
Job
At the beginning of the year, I was working in education as a Supply and all I wanted was a full time permanent job.
Did that happen?
Oh yes it did!
It happened with a big twist, back then I hadn’t considered that I could ever have a career change but that’s how I’ve embarked on a new journey. I now work for the NHS, have a full time 9 to 5 permanent job! I’ve done a dedicated post on my Career Change if you’re interested to know how I got to where I am today and why!
Home
Since having Little A, I wanted to move out of the one bedroom flat that we lived in as I found that it was too small for a child. So the goal was to move into a bigger home with a garden.
Did it happen?
Yes it did! We moved to a bigger, so much more spacious 2 bed apartment just 7 months ago and everyday I’m finding ways to make it my home. However, there is another twist. We don’t have a garden, we have a balcony and I’m not one bit bothered about not having a garden and it’s purely because Little A spends her day Monday to Friday at my Mum’s where there is a big garden for her to play in so not having our own garden isn’t a big deal as it wouldn’t have been used at all.
Self Care
I promised myself that I would take time out for myself – I felt so inspired in the beginning of the year.
Did it happen?
Where’s a blanket so I can go hide under it? I am disappointed to say that I did not achieve this goal and I did not even try to be totally honest. When Little A would go to sleep, I’d just would slump myself in bed . I really should have come up with a self care routine but I did not – maybe 2019 will be different?
Blogging
The one and only goal I set myself for blogging was to post regularly.
So did it happen?
Yes and no.
I have posted regularly but I have also taken unplanned breaks around Little A’s birthday, when we were moving and when I was just not feeling motivated enough. I’ve learnt that it’s ok to take a break – it actually does you and your blog so much good!
As I write this now, I am on a break, I haven’t posted anything in over a week or so. In the beginning of the year, I hadn’t even taken breaks into consideration which was very unrealistic of me because I don’t want blogging to be a chore, I want it to be my escape! And that’s what I’ve been and will keep focusing on.
*~*~*
So that’s it! It was good to reflect on my goals and see how I’ve done and it’s given me a better insight on how to approach 2019.
What about you? Did you achieve what you set out? Share with me below!

Sounds like a busy year, have a lovely New Year! (:
