A little bit late in posting this but February has been a very busy month but we will leave more about February later on. So back to January! It only feels like yesterday that we were ringing in the New Year but really it was a while ago.
January was a simple month yet filled with lots of lovely memories.
New year brunch

Years ago, we all use to get together New Years Eve and see in the New Year. However, ever since the littlens in the family appeared we changed this to having a get together for a New Years Day brunch. More practical and no pressure on anyone who can’t go out or keep the children up till midnight.
It was so lovely to have everyone together. Due to COVID19, there haven’t been many of these opportunities. The pandemic has honestly really taught us the value of just being able to see each other.
Friends wedding

A week into New Year, we celebrated my best friend of 18 years wedding. It was such a beautiful and perfect day despite all the rain! My little girl was the flower girl and she did so well!
It wasn’t going to be a traditional wedding with the flower girl having to walk down the aisle scattering flowers along the way so I didn’t do anything to prepare her.
However, just before the ceremony we agreed to have her walk down the aisle with the Bride and the Bride’s Father just behind, I mean who could resist with her gorgeous white dress and flowers.
I’m not going to lie, I was nervous, I thought she’ll either see me and run over to me instead or end up in tears when everyone stands up and looks in her direction. But with the encouragement of the Bride as well as the Registrar at the other end, she walked in and made us all proud! But thinking back, even if she had ended up running in the opposite direction it wouldn’t have mattered!
It ended up being a lovely yet long day for her but she was a trooper and had a wonderful time – definitely the most beautiful and memorable way to start the year!
The stickman trail

When work colleagues become friends it really is the best feeling. We went to The Stickman Trail at Weald Country Park with one of my friends who I met through work. It was such a lovely experience, finding Stickman and his Family along the trail in the forest.
We got very muddy but I guess that made it all the more fun! I highly recommend finding trails near you, they are such a great inexpensive day out for everyone.

Reading

January had been a crazy month of reading! Shockingly, I literally read the same amount of books in one month that I read in the entirety of 2021. I just couldn’t stop! The credit goes to my kindle of course and audiobooks!

Feeding the ducks

Although I had not set specific goals for this year, I decided that I wanted to make more of an effort of going out. Even on days I don’t feel like it. Spontaneous adventures really do turn out to be the best ones.
We took a little trip nearby to feed the ducks, such a simple activity that ended up becoming very exciting!

My Favorite things about January is it is the beginning of the year. It means new goals and new opportunities.
Aw it sounds like you had lovely month! Well done to your little girl for doing such a great job at the wedding, and for you for reading so many books! Thanks for sharing, wishing you a lovely March x
I loved going to see the ducks when I was younger, definitely a favourite activity! The Stickman Trail sounds like it was good fun. I enjoyed reading this 🙂 x
What lovely January moments! My favourite part of January was so simple but some lovely long lie-ins and slow mornings at the weekends with my love and the dog.
It sounds like you had a great month with lots of fun activities to look back on with fond memories. It is great to read about positive experiences, even small activities after everything horrible going on. Thank you for sharing about your month. I hope March is a good month for you!
